In Loving Memory of My Sister.
Can you say "E" for Elephant. Elephants are mammals, and the largest land animals alive today. The elephant's gestation period is 22 months, the longest of any land animal. At birth it is common for an elephant calf to weigh 120 kg (265 lb). An elephant may live as long as 70 years, sometimes longer. Elephantidae (the elephants) has three living species: the African Bush and the African Forest (until recently known collectively as the African Elephant) and the Asian (also known as the Indian Elephant).
Did you know these come in forms as stuff animals, knick-knacks, jewelry, key rings, pictures, plates, silverware and just about anything you can imagine? I do. My sister collected them. Even her nickname was Elephant for awhile. Every year we know at Christmas (And of course on her birthday and let's not forget anniversaries or any other special occasion) that she would at least get one (more like three+) of this animal in some type of form. She must have left behind over 500. It probably wasn't the world's largest collection but it sure was a great many of them. My brother-in-law thought so when he had to pack them up and ship them to my other sister in Washington state.
